Action for Welfare and Development in Rural Environments Organization (AWDREO) is a non-governmental, non-profit and non-political organization. AWDREO is established in 2015 by a group of young youth who have had passionate to contribute to country development and engage in multi-sector programs in the realms of Peace building , Economic Empowerment/Livelihoods, Education, Women’s Rights, WASH and Humanitarian Response so that to promote peace, stability and development, alongside the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, by targeting the marginalized, women, girls, youth and children, the illiterate and the poor in rural communities. The organization contributed to the mobilization, increase the capacity, awareness of women, and youth to proactively participate in the community socio-economic and political arena. Furthermore, AWDREO support community based organization to raise their voice toward duty bearers in demanding quality education, health services, and access to WASH services and access to best agriculture practices. Likewise, linking the community with active development and humanitarian agencies so that they can address their basic needs and priorities. The organization has is main office in Kabul and provincial contact offices in Bamyan, Daikundi, Ghazni, Ghor provinces. The organization is registered with key network and cluster working groups such as EiE, protection, FSAC, AWN and has stronger relationship with government partners such as MRRD, MOE, MAIL, MORR, MOLSD, MoWA. AWDREO staff and team members have long history of working in the country with the vulnerable, under deprived and marginalized communities and considered an icon of trust and reliability within the communities. Our technical expertise and capacity to manage projects has helped build a good working relationship with the government departments and won the support and trust of the local society.
AWDREO is a national NGO dedicated to empower individuals and rural communities with particular focus on women, girls, boys and youth, so that they participate fully in society and influence their own development so that they can improve their living standards and claim their rights. AWDREO will achieve this by working closely with communities, local and national civil society organizations and relevant levels of government, and by combining capacity development, advocacy and service provision
